Bronti,
The Brontosaurus
The next day, the museum had a big sign in front of it that read, "See a live Brontosaurus!" People from all over the world came to see Bronti. At first, Bronti liked all the attention, but then after a while he became homesick. He missed seeing all the children playing in the schoolyard. He missed Jenny and the children sharing their food with him at lunchtime. One day, after school, Jenny and her friends came to visit him. "Don't worry Bronti, we have a plan to get you out!" exclaimed the children. Bronti was so happy to see them that he jumped up and down; he jumped so hard that the whole museum shook. His cage door loosened. He was free. Jenny and her friends rode on Bronti's neck back to the forest. The museum staff called the fire department and the police to get him back. When they arrived at the school, they were ready to arrest Bronti for escaping. Jenny, her friends and all the children from the school were on the schoolyard holding signs that read "Bronti lives here, let him stay with us!" When the firefighters, police, teachers and the principal saw this, they realized that Bronti's place was in the forest. From that day on, at lunchtime, Jenny and her friends would give him his very own special, healthy food in a giant lunch bag. Bronti was the happiest dinosaur alive . . . and the only one too! <- Back to Stories For Children
