A Baby's Tenth Month, Motor Skills, Visual & Hearing Development

The Ten Month Old Baby
At this age, babies crawl with a lot of skill, they can climb stairs, and can stand by holding on to something. Do not hurry the baby or force him or her to walk though. It is better if the baby continues crawling to strengthen their muscles. It is likely the baby will already say some words in a coherent way although not very clearly. Do not worry if the baby doesn’t do this though, according to studies, baby boys start talking after baby girls. Remember that each child is different though. At this age babies need to learn about “Yes” and “No”. Teach the baby everyday which objects he or she is allowed to touch such as his or her toys, plastic recipients etc. and which he or she is not allowed to touch such as home decorations, mommy and daddy’s personal objects. Do not leave things like matches, plugs, cleaning supplies, medicine, in the baby’s reach, as they are not only toxic but also very dangerous. Try to teach the baby something positive, if you say no to everything, the baby will not learn to distinguish. Tell the baby things like “Here, take this toy instead”, or “this is mommy’s and this is yours”. Generally denying leads to conducts you want the baby not to do.
