Baby Formula
Until the baby starts to eat sitting, in his stroller or high chair, you will need to feed the baby by holding him or her on your lap. This greatly benefits the baby’s growth both physically and emotionally because it makes the baby feel loved and protected. When the baby is breastfeeding, do not place him or her on top of the bed but in your arms, and do the same when the baby drinks the bottle. You shouldn’t even leave the baby in the crib to drink alone even when he or she is older. The milk could choke the baby, and the chance of cavities and mouth malformations increase this way as well.
Feed the baby in a relaxed way, without hurry, in a quiet and serene place in a comfortable position. Enjoy this moment to the full because you will be teaching your baby to relate food with love.
When feeding your baby, make sure you sing to him, talk to her, and caress the baby looking into the eyes so that the baby is able to interact with you.
Watch the temperature. Breast milk always has a temperature of 32 degrees C; a bottle should not exceed that of 35 degrees C. if you use bottle heaters or the stove, make sure your first verify by dropping a few drops on the back of your hand before feeding.
Place the bottle nipple at the corner of the baby’s lips or play with the baby’s lower lip, and when the baby opens his or her mouth, introduce it in his mouth but not forcefully.
Hold the bottle inclined so that the bottle way is always full to avoid the baby from swallowing air.
If you decide to feed your baby with the bottle, allow the pediatrician to orient you. There are different types of formulas available that can offer a sufficient amount of nutrition.
