Child Diarrhea and
Digestive Problems

Digestive problems in children can be due to an innumerable amount of reasons. The smaller a child is, the more importance we should give to these types of problems. When a child is sick or has diarrhea the first thing you should do is not feed them anymore food, not solids or liquids, only water and this last one should be given frequently since the child can dehydrate very quickly. If after 24 hours a child still has diarrhea, it will be necessary to take the child to the pediatrician (obviously if the problem is very serious before the 24 hours, take the child to the pediatrician right away). Your pediatrician will then give you the adequate diet depending on each situation. If the child only has slight diarrhea, it is convenient to give them water frequently along with rice water. When the diarrhea has stopped, little by little you will be able to start feeding the child the foods he or she normally eats.

The Type of Attention a Baby Needs
The smaller the baby is, the more vulnerable he or she will be. Babies put all their trust in the people that take care of them which is normally the parents. It is completely up to them to and this requires of a lot of dedication, and normally does not have a specific schedule, only the hours that a baby needs to feel loved and cared for. This trust and dependence stays there as the child grows but is will no longer be as exclusive.

Parents should never look at the clock and tell themselves that their baby needs to eat at a specific time because they have something else to do. In order for a baby to be relaxed and calm during feeding time, the parents must be so also, and they should turn off the television, unhook the telephone etc because the feeding time of their child is the most important thing.

Parents are the main educators of their own children, followed by the school and the rest of the people that live with that child. When a child starts going to school often times the parents avoid this responsibility and leave it up to the school or the grandparents to teach their children how to eat. When a child cries for a candy or doesn’t want to eat, the parents sometimes forget that they are the main ones responsible for the child’s education. It’s easier for a lot of us to arrive home from work when our children are already ready for bed, which is a shame, because these are moments that cannot be replaced again and the child ends up having a better communication with the person that spends more time with them then with his or her own parents.

As a child begins growing, he or she makes use of mischief to get what they want, which in many occasions is just a simple thing, and know that if the parents have not spent a lot of time with them during the week, or if they are separated or divorced, then on the weekend the child will go all out to get his way, which generally happens during meal times causing the child to refuse to eat, or picking at the adults food.

It is important that the parents become the main educators of their own children. And one of the most difficult points is getting a child to eat well to guarantee good balance between his or her physical growth and intellectual growth. Therefore, although it is very difficult to achieve, it is something that cannot be avoided.
