Four Month Baby Games
Turny: Babies need several months to acquire total control of the movements of their body and be able to turn around. This exercise can be done with a baby from the time they are two months old.
You will need to place a towel or blanket over the bed or a soft and firm surface. Lay your baby face down over the blanket. Take one side of the blanket on the side and raise it slowly, to cause your baby to lie on one side. Continue lifting the blanket softly until the baby turns completely. Give your baby applauses when he does it. Repeat the exercise until the baby gets tired of playing.
Make sure to move the baby slowly and to keep one hand over the baby so that he does not get hurt if he were to turn very quickly.
In the same position, lift a side of the blanket so that the legs of the baby are elevated. As the days go by you will be able to get his legs to be perpendicularly suspended of the body.
Place the baby on the side and slowly move his hip from one side so that he learns to turn.
The worm: When the baby puts pressure with his feet over a flat surface, he is stretching them to work them out. This is known as the crawling reflex. Accommodate the baby’s face down and place a toy of different intense colors down so he can use this reflex and learns to crawl. Sit behind the baby, forming a wedge in his feet with your legs, hands or any strong surface, so that the baby pushes and can impulse himself a few centimeters forward, in direction towards the toy. Continue moving the toy and putting pressure on the baby’s feet until he has moved forward. Encourage and applaud him when he achieves it.
