Giving birth in the home is not something very common yet in western homes, but there are some women that are under the opinion that giving birth in their homes is the ideal place to do this. A midwife usually attends these kinds of deliveries and there is an obstetrician waiting in case any problems arise. A birth inside the home is perfectly fine for women that are at very low risk of complications. The data however, about deliveries in the home are contradictory. Some studies show that births in the home are associated with greater risks for the mother and the baby and others indicate that they are just as safe then deliveries in the hospital with women that are healthy and have low risk.

There are also sometimes special baths specifically for this purpose in hospitals; births in water are generally done in specialized centers with the help of a midwife. There are a lot divided opinions about the safety of this procedure between doctors.

It is your job to accept this help, trust in yourself and allow all the stages to take their place step by step.
There are basically three ways in which a baby can be born, and these ways include through the birth canal as the mother pushes, through the birth canal with a little bit of help, in other words by using forceps etc, or by a cesarean. The best and indicated method in your specific case will depend on a lot of different factors, which include your medical history, the condition of your baby and the sizes of your pelvis in relation to the size of your baby etc.
