Lentils Puree Recipe
Adequate for babies nine months of age on up. Serves around 4 portions.
Ingredients 100 grams of raw fast cooking lentils 100 grams of rice 1 small onion 2 garlic teeth ½ laurel leaf 1,500 cc’s of water or vegetable stock A pinch of salt if you like
Preparation
- Place the lentils to boil over low heat in the cold water along with the chopped onion, the 2 un- chopped garlic teeth and the leaf of laurel.
- The ingredients should boil around 45 to 50 minutes to finish cooking, and then add in the rice.
- If the water level becomes low, you can add in more, as long as you make sure to add in hot water so that the water does not stop boiling.
- Once the cooking time has finished, blend or mash it (mashing is more appropriate for children that are over 1 year of age).
- Divide the portions and set aside what is going to be used for the baby at that moment, the rest of the puree should be kept by following the storing indications.
