Magical and Mysterious China
The Chinese have a word that means “elixir of a long life”. The most famous case is that of Li Chung Yung, who, according to the Chinese archives was born in 1677 and died in 1933. Well, what we do know is that the man lived a long time due to his vegetarian diet, which included this “elixir of a long life”. In order to increase the libido, one or two tablespoons a day of these fresh leaves are enough.
Chinese Sexuality Amongst the Chinese sexuality has been considered the “way to heaven” for centuries, something that is totally normal and nothing embarrassing or something that should be hidden.
Today it seems to be somewhat of a repressed society but we have to remember that before the communists governments came in to dominate, with other ideas, which were more repressive, sexuality and sex was spok
en and talked about freely in China.
This marks a notable difference with our tradition more Christian tradition, in which sexuality is assimilated as sin and the women, as the inducers of the original sin, is associated to the wrong. In this tradition the matter opposes the spirit, sexuality, and spirituality.
It is also important to know and keep in mind that for the Chinese sexual abstinence is “going against the laws of heaven and earth, which demand of sexual relationships”.
One of the aspects that most impacted the Chinese Taoists when they in their encounters with the Occident was the hidden and prohibitive treatment that was given to the topic of the sex, a taboo that originates after the arrival of Christianity and that was not part of the Roman Greek world.
The Taoists monks didn't make votes of chastity. For them the practice of sex was the way to sanctity used as a method to transcend the individual limitations, to harmonize the internal energy, to expand the conscience and to communicate with the universal energy.
The wealth in the use of the terms and the beauty with which sexuality is exposed in the Chinese literature does nothing but generate admiration and respect toward a culture that, thanks to its vision of the world, didn't limit itself to that aspect of themselves, trying to achieve one of the human activities of more importance with a lot of creativity and wisdom.
The Chinese associated sexuality with health and longevity.
In the bedroom websites of the Taoists numerous recipes are dedicated to improve sexual potency. One of the most famous it is the drug of the bald hen, called this way because a character of the time accidentally fed the drug to his young rooster, and according to the tradition, the sexual appetite of the rooster became so voracious that it nipped the head of the unfortunate chickens while it mounted them. Unfortunately we cannot offer you this formula, we tried, but were not able to find it.
