Motivating Your Child to Learn
Do not bribe your child by rewarding him with cookies, candy and those types of things. Keep in mind the speed that he will learn within a very short amount of time, and all that candy or cookies will end up being very expensive for you as well as terrible for the health of your child. On the other hand, cookies are a pretty shabby reward for such a big achievement if you are going to compare it to love and respect. Children learn with the speed of lightning and if you teach them these words more than three times a day, you will bore the child. If you only show him a flash card for more than a second, you will lose his attention. On the third day add in another set of new words. Now you are teaching your child
three sets of reading words, each set is of five words and each set should be shown to the child three times a day. Your child and you will enjoy nine sessions of words spread throughout the day that will only take up a few minutes in total. The fifteen first words that you teach your child will need to be chosen between the words that are more familiar and nice. Amongst these words you should have the names of the people in your immediate family, your relatives, and domestic animals in the family, your favorite dishes, and the objects that can be seen in your house and your favorite activities. It would be almost impossible for us to give you an exact list given that the fifteen words of each child will need to be personal and therefore will be different in each case. The only sign of warning that can show up in any learning process is boredom. |
