Not All Pregnancies are the Same
Something that all mothers do is compare their second pregnancy with the first one, but each pregnancy is different. If your last pregnancy went about without any trouble you may think that any small problem that happens in the second is in indicator that something is going wrong. In the same way, if your first pregnancy was a difficult one, you do not have to assume that the second one is going to be the same thing again. And even though people say it, the fact that the symptoms in a second pregnancy are different does not mean that the baby is going to be a different sex from the first one.
Here are some of the possible differences from the second, third or fourth pregnancy:
- Many women feel less anxious after having gone through a pregnancy already.
- Many women feel the Braxton-Hicks contractions before in second pregnancies.
- The work of labor and the delivery is easier.
- Fetal movements can usually be identified before.
- Many women feel less nauseous in second and third etc pregnancies than in the first and there are some that feel more nauseous.
- Many women feel their pregnancy is more notorious or that they are less swollen. This perhaps has to do with the fact that the abdominal muscles stretched in the first pregnancy and they are now more stretched out.
In the cases of women that have had two very good and healthy pregnancies, there are many women that worry that the third is going to run into complications. Many women feel lucky to have had two good pregnancies and feel that taking a shot at a third is playing with their luck. If you do feel this way, know that the probabilities of there being complications are not inherently greater in the third pregnancy due to the fact that the two first ones were born without problems.
