Pea Puree Recipe

Pea Puree Recipe

Adequate for babies nine months of age on up. Serves around 4 portions.

Ingredients
250 grams of peas (you can use frozen peas also)
75 grams of rice flour
1 small onion
5 parsley leaves
½ leaf of laurel
1,250 cc’s of water or chicken stock
A pinch of salt if the baby is over nine months of age

Preparation

  1. Wash the peas and then place them to boil in the water or vegetable stock for around 45 minutes.
  2. Once the cooking time has finished, blend or mash it.
  3. Divide the portions and set aside what is going to be used for the baby at that moment, the rest of the puree should be kept by following the storing indications.
  4. The rice flour is added once you have added in the liquid. You will need to stir it a little though so that it does not stick.
  5. To avoid the baby from having problems with the fiber that peas naturally have, it is advisable to mash them with a potato masher.
  6. Make sure to remove the laurel leaf before blending or mashing.
