Recovering From a Cesarean

Recovering From a Cesarean

After a cesarean, the doctors and nurses will take you to the recovery room and you will need to stay there for a few hours. This is done so that the member of the team that is attending you can make sure your condition is stable. In many cases you will also be allowed to see and carry your newborn baby.

The recovery time after a cesarean is generally longer than a vaginal delivery due to the fact that a surgical procedure has been done. How long you will need to stay in the hospital or clinic though varies from one place to the other. There are some places that only require you stay for one day while others that may require you stay up to four days.
