Veal Meat or Braised Ox Recipe
Adequate for babies twelve months of age on up. Makes 4 servings.
Ingredients 300 grams of veal or ox cut in strips 1 medium sized onion 2 ripe tomatoes 150 grams of mushrooms 300 cc’s of meat broth 2 tablespoons of olive oil Flour Salt (optional)
Preparation
- Put the oil in a small pan that can go in the oven. When it is hot, brown the spiced and floured meat.
- When the meat has browned, take it out and it and put the onion to cook that has been chopped in small pieces. Allow it to cook slowly until it starts to brown. at this point add the peeled tomatoes, without the seeds and mashed.
- Allow it to cook slowly for around 10 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is done, add in the meat, the meat broth and place it in the oven (preheated at 180 degrees C.) for around 35 minutes, uncovered.
- If while it is cooking, the meat starts to get dry simply cover the pan.
- Wash the mushrooms and cut them into fine layers.
- 10 minutes before the cooking time is over take the meat out and add in the mushrooms.
- Once the meat is soft, divide the serving portions and store what is not going to be used adequately.
If you are using ox the meat will need to cook a little longer.
This can be an only dish if you add in 40 grams of boiled pasta.
If while in the middle of cooking you see you need more liquid in the food, add in a little bit of hot water or hot meat broth.
