When a Child Starts Going To School
Starting from the moment a child starts going to kindergarten and stays to eat, it is important to compensate dinners with the foods that have been made in the daycare or kindergarten. All day-cares and schools plan their menus so that this can then be done. It’s important to keep in mind that when a child arrives to school they are usually tired, which is why it is important to feed them a light dinner the night before; in order to avoid digestive problems. It is also advisable to allow an hour to go by before putting them to bed.
For dinners it is suggested to feed a child soups, vegetable purees, boiled or steamed vegetables, fish, chicken or eggs; desserts can include fruit or milk, yogurt etc. You should not feed a child sauces or fried foods at least until the child has turned eighteen months of age, although this recommendation applies for all the ages. The ideal thing is to bathe a kid before they eat, then allow him or her to eat and then play for about an hour before going to bed. This way the child’s body will have a chance to digest his or her food before going to sleep.
