When to Talk to the Pediatrician

When to Talk to the Pediatrician

Each baby develops according to his or her own rhythm. Do not compare, and don’t force your baby or become anguished if he or she did not achieve some of the previously mentioned points. Remember that a lot of things are only references about what you can expect from your baby at the end of the third month.

However, there are some attitudes that can mean that there are certain difficulties in the baby’s growth. This is why it is important to talk to your pediatrician in the following cases:

  • If the baby does not fix his eyes on anything
  • If the baby stays still most part of the time
  • If the baby keeps his hands closed
  • If the baby cannot hold his head up
  • If he does not laugh
  • If he does not respond to loud sounds
  • If he does not notice his hands
  • If he does not smile when hearing your voice
  • If he does not follow objects in movement with his eyes
  • If he does not pay attention to new faces or if he gets scared of being in places different from those he is used to
  • If he has difficulty moving one or both eyes in all directions
  • If the baby is cross-eyed most of the time
